From East LA to Echo Park , the following is a list of record stores on the Eastside that are worth checking out if looking to add to your growing vinyl collection or starting one.

Atwater Village

Jacknife Records & Tapes

  • A narrow space packed with used, rare and some new vinyl as well as a large section of cassette tapes.

Cypress Park

Gnar Burger

  • Sorry, no burgers. But just records and tapes presented by two small music labels, Gnar Tapes & Burger Records.

East Los Angeles

Sounds of Music

  • This humble music store established in 1967 sells vinyl records & CDs, including collectable titles.
  • 4956 Whittier Blvd.

Record Jungle 

  • This store has a wide selection of records for a great price and has online ordering as well.
  • 2459 W Whittier Blvd, Montebello

Echo Park

Cosmic Vinyl

  • 2149 W Sunset Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90026
  • Set along Sunset Boulevard, this store is a blast from the past that features a pinball machine, listening stations and a great selection of punk rock vinyls in display.

Permanent Records

  • The Chicago-based record sellers features a variety of new and used vinyl in stores in Highland Park and Echo Park.

El Sereno

Golden Age Records Toys & Collectibles

  • One of the newest record stores on the Eastside located in El Sereno, sells vinyls and a variety of collectable toys worth checking out.

Highland Park

Gimme Gimme Records

  • Owner Dan Cook has been in the vinyl business for over 20 years and knows what he’s talking about when it comes to music.

Mount Analog

  • A relatively spacious space that is stocked with vinyl and cassette tapes as well and also hosts a variety of events.

  • Why not combine a hair salon and record store? While you are waiting to get your hair cut, browse through new vinyl and an extensive collections of used soul, jazz, hip-hop and world music.

Silver Lake

Rockaway Records

  • Opened in 1979, Rockaway is one of the longest-surviving independent record stores in L.A.

Vacation Vinyl

  • The selection tends to favor rock and metal but music of all kinds can be found.
