Are those choppers at Dodger Stadium preparing for a Trump visit?

The sounds of military helicopters have been heard across Los Angeles this afternoon. They have even been spotted landing in the Dodger Stadium parking lot. What’s up? Looks like this is in preparation for a presidential visit this week.

At least that’s the speculation on Twitter. President Donald Trump is scheduled to make his first California visit since he was elected on Tuesday and part of Wednesday. He is expected to visit San Diego to look at prototypes of the border wall he wants to build and also attend a Westside fundraiser, according to the L.A. Times

The Dodger Stadium parking lot has been used in the past as a presidential landing pad. Former President Obama’s chopper made at least one stop at the stadium during his two terms in office. Military pilots have also landed on the parking lot during training before presidential visits.

  1. Yeah, I hear the 76 ball was used as Trump’s stand-in.

    Ba da bing.

  2. Nice article and pictures! Thanks

  3. Some of these, with the fixed wings. are “tiltrotors” — not helicopters . . .

    • Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey

    • Why are “tiltrotors,” Osprey? used instead of helicopter? Curiosity, thanks

      • Androg,
They take off vertically -like a helicopter, then the rotors tilt forward so it can fly like a fixed wing prop airplane. It is a marine branch vehicle so yes, probable
that it has something to do with the president’s visit, though if you live near the 101 freeway you can observe them flying from base to base. It’s pretty bad-ass to watch. You can see it on youtube V-22 Osprey.

  4. We should all head to the stadium and welcome him with a proper LA greeting. #Impeach
