Racers are needed for the first ever LA River Boat Race Aug. 30. Kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboarders will compete for the sheer thrill of it on a mostly flatwater course. The whole thing should take you between between six and ten minutes. Organizer LA River Expeditions wants the event to be playful and inclusive. So participation is donation-based with kayak and gear provided on request. Sign up and more details here.
