The streets, sidewalks, parkways and empty lots are filled with abandoned items that can be put to good use. The photo above by Silver Lake resident and blogger Diane Edwardson shows a discarded vacuum that has been recycled and reused in what she calls a “guerrilla garden” tucked into a canyon near her home.
